Spring time = treasure hunting!!!!

Spring time = treasure hunting!!!!  with the winter (hopefully behind us) I went treasure hunting this weekend and found this bunch of farming hooks, they are about 6 inches tall.  Not really sure of what their original purpose was, the person who I got them from said they were for the back of tractors to hook machinery on. I fell in love with the shape and  the pitted surface.  My mind has been spinning with all sorts of things to do with them, a chandelier, hanging pendants, a pair of sconces.  Not sure what they will end up to be, what ever they become, I will post so you can see them.

Happy Spring,

Susan

Here in the Hudson Valley of New York State, we have been very luck this year with a mild winter.

A wonderful call from Hudson Magazine.

I came into the studio on Monday morning and had a message from Lynn Hazelwood from the Hudson Magazine blog.  Her message said that she was so thrilled to find me can I give her a call.

So I did and we had a great talk.  She is from England and I love the intro line to the story “How to brighten up a dowdy room with one- (or maybe two-) of-a-kind lamps and shades”.  My grams is from England and the word “dowdy” brought back wonderful memories.

What lamps do you have that could use a brightening up?  Table lamp, floor lamp, wall sconce or chandelier?  Bring a bit of sunshine indoors.

Half Hats

half hats

I have making a lot of “Hats” ( small shades for chandeliers and sconces) this summer.  A great way to change the appearance of a room, a quick change in wardrobe. From Sassy Sleeves to Hats, here are my newest, Half Hats for sconces.

Wonderful shapes and sizes that are a blank canvas to my vast collection of papers old and new. Just let your imagination run wild with all of the possibilities that can happen. When you take the plain lampshade you now have on your favorite sconce and replace it with a funky Half Hat or maybe a Half Hat would be the answer to making an ordinary sconce extra ordinary.

If you are in the area stop by and see what Hats you fancy or visit my online store.

The combination’s are endless, a certain way to make you smile.
